Silent Solitude

The snow had been coming down all day. The plow hadn't arrived yet, which ment we were going no where. This fairly large bird was sitting all by itself in the totally silent world outside my studio. It looked so perfect on the phone line. Its feathers, all puffed up to help keep it warm against the blowing swirls of snow. There it sat, regal and and proud in its appearance.

This piece is 11" x 14" oil on stretched canvas.

Spring Wheat
Oil On Stretched Canvas

The sun is out today in all its warmth. Hello old friend! It feels like it has been a long time since our paths have crossed. The piles of dirty, brownish ice still edge the road. Melting during the day and becoming a perfect ice rink at night. I took a short walk through the woods this morning and noticed that the early spring wild flowers are gently emerging from their winter slumber and soon their color will dot the landscape. The brightness of the sun and the warmth upon my back as I walked reminded me of springs past.

The above painting is a 10" by 20" piece of the popy fields of Europe. I love their vibrant color and gentle swaying movement in the wind. I hope you enjoy this piece. S'anna
