Information was just released on how to participate in this years Sketchbook Project. What a fantastic idea. You pick a theme or they supply one for you and your ideas and thoughts are visually recorded in your sketchbook. Then all of the sketchbooks go on tour worldwide during 2012. For information on how to participate go to: http://www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject.

ArtWorks
ArtWorks was  founded in 1996, it is a non-profit arts organization that connects artists of all ages with opportunities in the arts through inspiring apprenticeships, community partnerships, and public art. The ArtWorks Summer Program hires teens aged 14 - 19 to work with professional artists to make innovative public art to enrich the Greater Cincinnati community.
MuralWorks is ArtWorks' newest initiative, a year-round public art program bringing
murals to Cincinnati neighborhoods. ArtWorks main premise is that, our City is a gallery and with that in mind they have painted 34 murals in 25 neighborhoods in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.  This was the first year that ArtWorks crossed the Ohio and painted two murals in Northern Kentucky, one in Covington and the other in Newport. The dedication of the Newport Mural was held this past Friday. What a difference a few months and a lot of great work can make. As the old saying goes,"A Photo is Worth a Thousand Words".

Thanks ArtWorks!
