John A. Roebling Bridge, a bright new painting by S'anna

John A Roebling Bridge
8 x 10 in.
 Oil on Museum Quality Panel

When I finished this painting last night, I found some notes I had written on the back of one of the photos. I had gone to Covington to deliver a painting to a collector who lived near the bridge. At the bottom of her street I was able to pull off to get some good shots of the bridge. We had had a lot of rain for about a week or more prior to my delivery. The river was up and extremely muddy, but the sky that day was as clean as it could be. All the rain had washed out all of the air pollution we have here in the Ohio valley and sweet smelling, clean, clear sky is what was left. I hope that was the feeling I conveyed in this painting, that sense of how gloriously clean the air was that day.
