Making Up Your Mind....better to have choices

I love the way Fine Art America lets you try out frames and mats before buying your print. It makes it so much easier to visualize how the finished piece will look in your home.

The painting above was finished yesterday and uploaded to my gallery on Fine Art America this morning. The piece itself looks great, but how will it look in my home?

Now, adding a sample fame I have a much better idea what it will look like I my home.  If I decide I want to add a mat to the frame I can try on different mats as well.

Same print, but an entirely different look simply by adding a mat and different style frame.

If your homes decor lends itself towards an unframed appearance, FAA has that covered as well. Their Gallery wrapped canvases are perfect.

Sometimes it seems overwhelming all the choices that are available today, but I really feel it is  very helpful to be able to try on different ideas before we commit to a final product. It's like having a changing room when we go shopping for clothes, you never know what combinations you'll like best till you try them on.

I have been uploading a number of my recent paintings over the past few days. Be sure to check them out at: Fine Art America.

Yellow-Red Sky, new painting by S'anna

Yellow-Red Sky

This is another addition to the paintings that I'm completing for an upcoming competition.

Beautiful, vibrant red sunset over the Cincinnati area

“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”

Getting Ready

I have spent the past few days working on new paintings to enter in a local juried competition. In order to get ready to work on the final five painting I completed two preliminary studies. I decided to continue with my new series of "Local Sunsets" as a guide to these new pieces.

Kentucky Sunset

A Sense of Calm
6x6 Oil on Museum Quality Panel

Yellow Sky

These three pieces are the first fewer the competition. I love the reds and yellows in these new pieces. Color is certainly Natures tool to expressing emotions.
